Hotel Balanea - Calvi (Corsica)

Consider requesting a room on a higher floor for less noise and better sea views. The proximity to local restaurants is excellent.

The food was FAB with variety of choice!

the rooms were bright and reasonably large, were equipped with terrace and a balcony. absolutely perfect and stunning location, next door to calvi harbor, really enjoyed it. everyone was thoughtful and best.

The views from the Panoramic Beautiful Room were unreal-fine harbor and mountain scenes! The staff was super helpful, too. Just wish the air conditioning actually worked properly , as it was pretty uncomfortable at times.

there was almost nothing in the room - no fridge, no minibar, and the atmosphere was really strange that does not match with Calvi city at all.

I liked the location especially, right in the heart of the old town and the port. Easy access to restaurants, the port (we left by ferry for Nice) and also close to the station (we arrived by train from Corte). It was ideal. The staff were able to recommend a restaurant - the Piazetta - which was excellent value, local cuisine and customers, and generous portions with friendly service. New bathroom with walk-in shower and aquamarine glass basin!

Why are there no kettles in Corsican bedrooms? I took tea bags but couldn't use them!

Really good sea views from my Panoramic Beautiful Room were lovely. The sight of the harbor and mountains right from my balcony added a special touch to my mornings. The location is ideal for accessing nearby restaurants along the quayside. The air conditioning was barely functional, leaving the room uncomfortably warm . Despite reporting this issue, I found the staff's response to be somewhat dismissive. The room lacked basic amenities like coffee/tea facilities and the decor struck me as quirky but not practical, with the odd combination of colors making it feel more like a design experiment than a cozy retreat.

Wonderful view on the marina and the coast

The view from our window - over the harbour and towards the mountains ! An exceptional sunrise perfectly framed in the morning. Also an easy, central location for train station and port.

We stayed on a Friday so the sound of clubs carried up a bit - could bother some people.

Really good sea views enhanced our stay.

Our experience was dire due to poor air conditioning. The room reached unbearable temperatures. The bathroom was not only poorly ventilated but also had visible mold. The staff's dismissive attitude towards our complaints was frustrating, leaving us feeling ignored and undervalued.

Location, location, location. Calvi is a beautiful spot, we are sorry we couldnt spend longer there, and this hotel was right within the centre, perfect location, best ever- enough said. Will be back here just for its location alone.

I couldnt fault it really. We booked for 2 nights and missed one and they didnt charge us, there are no negatives about this place.
